What is misumisu?

We specialize in documentary-style video, photography, and visual design for nonprofits, conservation orgs, agencies, and mission-driven brands.

We’re based in Mount Shasta, CA — surrounded by forests, rivers, and a landscape that keeps you honest — and we channel that sense of place into stories with purpose and clarity.

Over the years we’ve learned that crafting those stories is a lot like coaxing a cat out of the shadows: it takes patience, creativity, and a bit of earned trust. That’s where “misumisu” comes from — a phrase heard across Cuba and the Caribbean, used to invite strays closer.

It’s our quiet reminder that the best narratives aren’t forced; they come forward when you create the right conditions.

What We Offer

What We Do

Non-Profit

& Agency Work

Clear stories for complex work.

We help mission-driven teams turn science, policy, and fieldwork into grounded, emotional narratives — built to earn trust, funding, and momentum.

Documentary

Production & Editing

Small crew, big curiosity.

We chase real stories in real places — science, water, wildlife, the people who keep it all running — and shape it into cinematic, grounded narratives that feel lived-in, not staged.

Commercial

Work

For brands that don’t want the usual gloss.

We build clean, character-driven visuals that actually say something — whether it’s a product, a place, or a team that deserves better than a stock-footage clone.

misumisu is new,

but our commitment to this work isn’t.

We’ve been lucky enough to work with the fine folks from the groups below over the past decade:

“misumisu was incredible to work with - professional, creative, and calm under pressure - and the landowner packet designed for the Siskiyou Land Trust far exceeded expectations and has significantly elevated our outward-facing professionalism.”
